A teacher in a primary school within the illupeju area of Lagos state has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command on the allegationg that she defiled a 4-year old girl (Names Witheld) with a fork.
Miss Funmi Akinpelu, a teacher in the kindergaten section of the school was arrested recently after the mother of the victim reported the matter to the DPO of Illupeju Police Station. The abuse was noticed when the victim wailed during the process of bathing her by the mother who reported her observation to the school authority who then pqraded all the teachers before the victim. This was when the suspect was singled out by the victim and was taken away by the Police for interrogation. Funmi has denied the allegation, noting that "she had a bond to uphold the school and not destroy it". After thorough investigation of this case, Funmi could be charges for assault and child abuse under the Chikd Rights Act of 2009.
