PRESIDENT JONATHAN APPROVES A 400 BILLION NAIRA BOND FOR REFURBISHING THE EDUCQTIONAL SECTOR

Nigerian President,  Mr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved  a bond of close to 2.5 billion dollars (About 400 billion Naira) which is for NEEDS assessment and running of the four main academic unions in the country's Universities, They are NAAT (NATIONAL ASSOCIATION IF ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGISTS) SSANU (SENIOR STAFF ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES),NASU (NON ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES) AND OF COURSE ASUU ( ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES). The bond paper and all other logistics will be put in place during the meeting between ASUU and the Federal goverment, scheduled at the state house Abuja. The bind is going to go a long way in alleviating the problems faced by these bodies in terms of finances and running of their activities. This is in line with Mr. President's Assertion that Education remains a top priority for his administration and he further stressed his administration's desire to enhance educational quality in Nigeria.  This is a relief to the academic community in Nigeria considering the over one month strike embarked upon by ASUU. There's really a light at the end of the tunnel and Nigerians should wait for the outcome of the meeting between both parties today!  Lets hope for the best.
