THE AZONTO STORY

A lot of Artistes and personalities have come up with different versions of their story of how this peculiardance step came into existence, the latest being Ghanaian star, Sarkodie claiming to have given birth to the movement.

Let me first say that dance is not just a movement of the body, it is an expression of one's mood and present state of mind both physically, mentally and spiritually! Every dance has ots own unique brand and flavour and its selling points

Azonto isnt a patented dance that we must pay to know its rudiments or gain rights of ownership. The dance was said to have originated from Ghana in west Africa and has gotten African youths on their feet for some time now.

Its not about who invented Azonto, A dance isnt a like song that has a personal identity, Dance is universal! A language we all understand.

Azonto which is now a world wide brand has gotten artistes mad about rights of invention and creation of the dance steps. But I still say "Dance cannot and will never be patented"

I read most of these controversial statements about these artistes who claim to have started the movement and I giggle!

C'mon! Artiste should bother about giving us hits to rock to and not engaging in baseless arguements over a dance! Its rather unhealthy!

Azonto is Africa's way of selling Africa to the world in dance so why halt the harmony? Unhealthy rivalry is uncalled for when Africa is fighting for a unified and dignified atmosphere for investment.
