ASUU YARNZ: UNILAG Resumes January 6th 2014, 250 lecturers resume at UNIABUJA

Over 250 lecturers have resumed at the University of Abuja refusing to join their “fanatic about Unionism” colleagues who are in defiance of the administrative directive to return to lecture theaters.

A University of Abuja lecturer, Yau Damagun, disclosed this to newsmen saying, “250 lecturers have already signed the register which is a fair number, although some lecturers who are fanatic with unionism are still sitting on the fence.”

“Although activities have not yet picked up fully, if you go the mini campus there are many students and lecturers there,” the lecturer said.

Meanwhile students of the University of Lagos have been informed that their new academic calendar will resume on January 6th.

Dean of Students Affairs, Kayode Amund, said the new timetable is to prepare an enabling environment for the students to register as ASUU could call of the strike any moment soon.

He said a fresh orientation would be held for returning students due to the length of disruption of their academic activities.
