ROMANS 1:16

“FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL, BECAUSE IT IS THE POWER OF GOD THAT BRINGS SALVATION TO VERY ONE WHO BELIEVES: FIRST TO THE JEW THEN TO THE GENTILE”

The post-text of this particular scripture describes Paul’s eagerness to  preach the Gospel with utmost necessity

Verse 15 goes thus

“That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome”

A lot of Gospels have been preached. A lot of doctrines have been believed upon and been confessed. This was an obvious reason for Paul’s specificity of the Gospel of whom to believe

A lot of people think they have but in reality haven't participated in the hearing of the Gospel.  

Hear him once again

Romans  8:8-10

8. But what does it say?(That’s the righteousness that is of faith) ‘the word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim

9. If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10. For it is with your heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth you profess your faith and are saved’

Paul was talking of a Gospel that reverenced and saw Jesus Christ as its progenitor. 

The truth of a fact is that there are so many false doctrines flying all over. This doctrinal errors are mostly denominationally based

Denominations came into the church as a resulting over conflicting interests of most leaders of the church.

Doctrinally, denominationalizing the church is improper.

 Let’s see Pauls account

1 Cor 3:4-6(KJV)

For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

5. Who then is Paul, and who then is Apollos, but Ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave every man?

6. I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Apt Response!

Paul viewed personal indoctrination (Now I mean indoctrination into personal values for selfish purposes) as CARNAL.

The Gospel was bigger than all of this!

The Gospel doesn’t tell you to cover your hair, the gospel doesn’t admonish you to keep the laws or become a “legal practitioner” as some folks call it. Amusing though.

The Gospel which is of faith rather have a contrary view to this

Eph 2:8-9(KJV)

By Grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast

Not of Works!

If this Gospel is not of works. There has to be a form of acquisition of salvation through this Gospel. This is Faith!

Notice that The Gospel doesn’t require faith as some preachers teach. NO!

The Gospel s a Faith Giver!

Romans  8:8

The King James Translation calls it The Word of Faith

This Gospel provokes faith in the Spirit of the listener.

Hebrews 10:38 (KJV)

Now the just shall live by His Faith…………...’

This faith produces life in the believer who is now metarmorphorsing by the word of faith which he continually hears. This life is called Eternal Life likened to Zoe.

The Church Edified.
