Mr. Yoto Seibokuro, a 27-year-old indigene of Southern
Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, is currently
in the detention of the National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency in Yenagoa, the state’s capital. Seibokuro was
arrested on October 26, 2013 at Agudama area of
Yenagoa for dealing in illicit drug, cannabis sativa.
When he (Seibokuro) and six other suspects were paraded
by the NDLEA last Friday, (Seibokuro) told PUNCH Metro
that he took to the illegal business in order to take care of
his five children and three wives.
The suspect, who said he was also a fisherman, said
because of his large family, his income from fishing was
no longer adequate hence he started selling drugs to cope
with family pressure.
“I am a fisherman. I have five children and three wives. I
sell drugs to augment my fishing business. This is
because the income from fishing is no longer able to take
care of my large family,” Seibokuro said.

The drug suspect, who said he married when he was 20
years old, explained that during his early years of
marriage, they were coping until in the last two years
when his financial situation became precarious owing to
his large family.
Paraded alongside Seibokuro were Mrs. Asenitiya College,
50; Mrs. Tari Reuben, 37; Mrs. Penny Gillet, 35; Mr.
Simon Obru; Mr. Felix Odalonu, 36 and Mr. Umaru
Mohammed, 42.
